What matters technically
We spec the Krones blow molding machines with short-wave infrared emitters and quartz heating elements matched to the OEM thermal curves. The emitters run on standard line voltage, drop in with R7s bases, and mount the way the machine expects—so you can swap them into the existing holders without rewiring the heating tunnel. Power density is tuned for PET preform heating: fast response, tight control, and consistent output across the cavity bank.
Why it works on the line
This solution attacks the real bottleneck: preform heating that keeps up with the blow molder. With quicker warm-up and stable temperature control, you can run tighter process windows, cut scrap, and keep the line at speed. Energy use drops because the emitters heat on demand and cool fast, shaving standby draw. Replacement is straightforward, so downtime stays short and maintenance stays predictable.
The details that make the difference
Installation is plug-and-play only when the tunnel reflectors, airflow, and power contacts are in decent shape. Older heating tunnels tend to carry uneven wear—clean the contacts, verify alignment, and check the thermal insulation before you swap. And keep the preform path clear. Even the best infrared emitter underperforms if the reflectors are dirty or airflow is out of balance.
