If you’re swapping an old 400W lamp for a powerful 1000W one, please check your wiring. If the wires are too thin for the load, they’ll overheat. Not a great feeling. And one last tip—keep an eye on your ceilings. Heat loves to climb. If you have high ceilings, all that warmth just hangs out at the top of the room while your feet stay freezing. In those cases, you might need a bit more wattage or a better reflector to actually push that heat down to where you’re standing.
